Winemaker Notes
The 2003 vintage is a bright garnet colored wine with aromas of kirsch, red currant, red plum, lavender and allspice. There are also hints of tobacco, grilled walnuts and campfire smoke. On the palate, this silky-textured wine offers a full-mouth, medium bodied feel. The chewy tannins are very well integrated, making the wine elegant and approachable at an early age. There are multiple layers to this complex blend that reveal themselves through decanting or by giving the wine time to open in the glass.

Rating
91 Points - Connoisseurs Guide to Californnia Wine
Good Value! – Relatively outgoing yet not at all overdone. This ripe, multifaceted wine smells of currants, black cherries and hints of orange-rind with a lavish backdrop of rich, creme brulee and lightly toasted oak notes. Full but not heavy in palatal impact and tasty from front to back, the wine carries the expected tannins of youth and seems assured of future softening and rounding with bottle age. In today’s Cabernet market, this one is an absolute bargain at the price.
